Good lens
I purchased this for my Sony HDR-HC1 HD Camcorder. This lens is actually made of two lenses. The first one attaches to the camera for Macro and the second lens work with (attaches to) the first lens to provide the wide angle function. Construction looks good and saw little or no artifact from the lens. There were cheaper lenses for the money but I decided to spend a little more hopefully to get a better lens. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to buy both this lens and the less expensive one and compare directly.

Not as advertised
Caution-this is not a Sony product from Blue Nook. It is aftermarket with prominent fish eye distortion. I am returning it and hopefully they will correct their listing.

Beware, you have to use plug provided
You will have to use the plug provided with this battery plugged into the "DC in" outlet on your camera. If you power up the Handycam without the plug you will get a warning on your screen stating the battery will not work with the camcorder.

Bought it for my brother in New York. He couldn't believe how cheap it was. All this time he was spending over $60 each through some online website. Amazon is the best!

COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER!
I recently bought a Hi8 camcorder that was 20 years old from craigslist, I get it and 2 weeks later the tape is very fussy. The picture was like snow and the video merged together about 75%, 25% respectively. I put the tape in and it cleared right away, I now clean after every 4 tapes that have been played. This tape also fixes the timer not working. HUGE MONEY SAVER!

Compact
This has a satiny cover, a wrist strap, and a hook and loop fastener for the belt. I would prefer it also have a safety "leash" of some sort on the hook and loop belt fastening as I am dubious as to the strength of the hook and loops. There is a small loop where such a "leash" can be put. Some kind of key chain would do. (Hook and loop faastener is the generic name for "Velcro" tm) When I first saw this camcorder case, I thought it would not fit my Samsung camcorder, but it is a perfect fit. There is not a separate pocket for the spare battery as I would have wished, but it fits fine in the case with the camera. There is enough padding in the case that I feel secure carrying it in my handbag. My case is navy blue which is easy to spot in my purse. I am satisfied with this purchase.
